[Events] ToF Weekly Update

Good email, Eric.   Time is flitting by, and I am not alone in saying the restaurants are not quick in signing up.   Not sure how a local chamber would see a benefit, but certainly, there are local businesses which help other organizations all the time.   Just more avenues to heap on our comm.   Seems we've all been overloaded lately.   Know I have been busy with other things.,such as getting paperwork together for taxes,which I put off.

As to an 'em cee', there are MANY I could think of:

Our own, Bob White is excellent! So is Garren Cone; as is of course, Bill Mick, who has  'radio - name ID'  but what are we using emcee for?   Matt Nye; you, Eric, and many other men in group could handle that job, I would think.  Geoff Bodine would probably cost us some $$, which we might not be able to afford.       We can talk about this Wed. night.   Who will be contacting whom????    We would have to clear it with whomever and find out their availability/interest/cost.

If its connected with music, than Greg Bennett is a super pro....and might do it reasonably, if not free, if he doesn't have a dance gig.     I was not sure you still wanted me to contact my musicians.     Don't want to do it before I know this is a real need.   Just can't picture where/when they will be playing.   in the theatre?   Do we have the whole place?   They usually restrict the auditorium for things like this.

I definitely think a raffle is a good idea.   People do buy raffle tickets....even at old ladies meetings, they buy tickets.........and I could supply some 'prizes' and gift certificates.            Alice

Hey everybody,

I've got an update to our Taste of Freedom products and a basic plan for organizing the event with the time left.  See the attached excel, power point, and word document.  Below is what I got and some other ideas from my research:

Days till event = D - 71 (12 April - 22 June)

Pull out date = D - 28 (25 May)
Days left planning event prior to D - 28 = 43 days
Number of restaurant commitments needed per week = 3 - 4

Advertising weeks prior to D - 28 = 6 weeks

Advertising weeks D - 28 to D Day (22 June) = 4 weeks

Things week could add to event:
1. Consider having a local chamber of commerce to sponsor event.
2. Get local radio personality to emcee the event for free.
3. Consider running a raffle. "The big raffle drawing" would change the tone of the event and make it more exciting.
4. Give awards for best entree, appetizer, and dessert.
