Location secured for Independence Day Tea Party

12

I have just signed a contract that will allow us to have the Tea Party at the Space Coast Stadium from 4-6pm on Saturday, July 4th at a cost of $5 per head. The $5 ticket price will include admission to the Tea Party, as well as the ballgame and fireworks afterwards.

There is nothing more American than baseball and fireworks, so bring the whole family and celebrate the founding of our country at the Independence Day Brevard Tea Party. The stadium seats 8,000, and our goal is to fill it!

In order to achieve this lofty attendance goal, I am seeking volunteers to chair and participate on several committees:

Public Relations Committee – Will provide the public with information about the Tea Party, handle advertising of the event, signage and decorations.

Fundraising Committee – Will solicit contributions from individuals and businesses.

Exhibitor Committee – Will be responsible for handling the sale of booths to organizations and vendors that wish to solicit Tea Party attendees.

Program Committee – Will help to coordinate the entertainment and program for the event.

If you are interested in chairing a committee, please contact me no later than close of business this Friday; we will be having a committee chair meeting next Monday at noon.

There are almost 600,000 people in Brevard County, with 359,682 of them registered to vote. That means we need just 2% of the registered voters in Brevard County to come out to achieve our goal of 8,000 attendees. spread the word to everyone you know and encourage them to join us in reviving the spirit of the Founding Fathers and restoring our Constitutional Republic.

I’m writing this to every one out there . This is up to us to change, what we do not believe is right for us (we the people), we need to spread the word to get people fired up. Let them know what’s at stake, our freedom and our country, as we know it. I keep hearing from so many people I talk to, that THEY (being the government) will take care of this. Well they sure have taken care of us, we’re in the biggest mess I’ve ever seen. Please talk to every one you can, explain that are government is the problem not the solution. When they say that they can’t do any thing to help, tell them yes they can they can go to a tea party and stand up for there country and there rights before it’s to late. Because the Government is counting on all of you not to do nothing!!!!! THANKS FOR READING AND GOOD LUCK!

I am new to Brevard County. All the way from Kansas!! Looking forward to the party July 4th. I am wanting to get involved…what celebration was the opening paragraph speaking of…it said the start time had been moved to 3 pm. Is that the July 4th party? Thanks for your reply.

  3. Lee Garrett says:

Hey, me and mine are all for tea parties!
    Baseball – not a bit.
To pay to protest is un-American.
Therefore, count out me and mine.

  4. Mark Vance says:

    Mr. Garrett-

Thank you and yours for being in favor of the tea parties. However if I might correct an assumption on your part which is incorrect.

The five dollar fee is not to cover your right to protest. It is to pay the insurance the Manatee’s need in order to give us the biggest and best venue in Brevard County to hold our protest. There is no other venue in the county big enough to hold the crowd the Tea Party committee hopes will attend.

And since we do not have a conservative George Soros willing to fund us, we poor but patriotic Americans thought a modest fee would cover the cost of our intellectual gunpowder.

Hope you and yours will change your minds and attend. After all, which is more important, 8000 voices raised in righteous anger and protest or having to pay for parking?

    Respectually,

    Mark Vance

Is there still going to be a protest in Cocoa Beach on July 4, 2009 at the intersection of A1A and 520?

I am from IRC and would like to attend a tea party, however i have not heard of anything in my county so i am looking north, south and west to attend one (hopefully bring the family) to pay five bucks is not a realy big deal in my book, however having to leave then come back doesn’t make sense to me, good luck and i hope to see you there. 7. Ken Ward says:

I look forward to visiting with likeminded Americans every chance I get. I personally have taken the oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America on numerous occasions. It was my intent then as it is now to stand by that oath. I willfully join the ranks of my fellow Americans that believe we are and must remain the beacon for freedom and grant refuge to those who seek it. I believe that all men are created equal. I believe in our right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. I believe in our Republic. I believe God has blesssed America……….so Happy Birthday!

  8. Chuck Harrison says:

Is this event non-partisan? As an independent voter, I would like to protest but I don’t want to appear that I am supporting the Republican party.

  9. JIm says:

Chuck, I’ve been a Democrate all my life and must say after attending the last one i met people from every party and was surprised at the number of Democrates and especially indedpendants. This isn’t about party its about this country, I will attend tomorrow and any others they have you will not be disappointed it was so inspirational.

  10. Tammy says:

I’ve never protested in a public venue in my 46 years but I feel so strongly that our collective voices need to be heard, I cannot sit this one out. I was very inspired by those of you that attended the tax day Tea Parties. My hope is that there are thousands more like me that are getting off the couch this time to add to your numbers so that we cannot be written off as “some rednecks” letting off steam.

I bought 6 tickets from my bank for the bbq, game and fireworks for 15.00 each. Does this include the tea party or is it an additional 5.00 for the tea party? Me and my friends hope to be able to enjoy this event (but I can not afford to spend another 5.00 per person).

    Thanks!
